I am a native of Hong Kong and a recent graduate of Yale University in Theatre Studies. I am currently based in New York, and am most interested in working with art that is not only good but important. I want to make art that is responsible.
My work as a playwright include Architecture of Rain, which premiered at the Iseman Theatre with the Yale Dramatic Association, Tongue Grafting, and delicacy of a puffin heart which will be produced this upcoming summer at the Corkscrew Theater Festival in New York. I was a finalist for the Jerome Fellowship at the Playwrights Centre 2018, Van Lier New Voices Fellowship 2018, DVRF Playwrights' Program 2018, Berkeley Rep Ground Floor Summer Residency 2018, She NYC 2018, and SPACE on Ryder Farm 2016. I will be participating as a playwright in the 24 Hour Plays: Nationals 2018 this upcoming August.
As a poet, I recently performed spoken word at the Kent School, Connecticut. And this past August and September, I was an artist in residence at the Centre of Substructured Loss in Berlin. My work was displayed as an installation during Berlin Art Week.
As an actor, I recently played Abby in the world premiere of Columbia MFA Candidate Ruoxin Xu's play Speaking As Then. I will be playing Helena in an upcoming production of A Midsummer Night's Dream at Park Square Theatre, St. Paul, MN in December 2018.
I am represented as a model by Abbey Lynn Models, based in Brooklyn.
I am fluent in English, French, Mandarin, and Cantonese. My work in translation and non-fiction involve all four languages, and has appeared in China Hands, and the New York Times. I consider all my work an act of translation.
