Stefani Kuo is a native of Hong Kong and a recent graduate of Yale University in Theatre Studies. She is currently working and living in Brooklyn, NY, and she is most interested in working with art that is not only good but important. The work she wants to make is art that is responsible.
This past August and September she was an artist in residence at the Centre of Substructured Loss in Berlin, and her work was displayed as an installation during Berlin Art Week.
Previously, she worked at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, where her new play delicacy of a puffin heart was developed. Her play, Architecture of Rain, premiered at the Iseman Theatre with the Yale Dramatic Association.
As an actor, she was most recently seen in The Markers by Maryna Majok, directed by Cristina Angeles.
She is fluent in English, French, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Her work in translation involves all four languages, and has appeared in China Hands, and the New York Times. She considers all her work an act of translation.
