Stefani Kuo 郭佳怡 is a native of Hong Kong and graduate of Yale University in Theatre Studies. Currently based in New York, Stefani has worked in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Berlin, Provence, and the U.S. She is currently a member of the writers group Interstate 73 with Page 73, as well as Speakers Corner with Gingold Theatrical Group.
Her play, Architecture of Rain, premiered at the Iseman Theatre at Yale and received a reading in the DVRF Roundtable series. It was a finalist for the Dennis and Victoria Ross Playwrights' Program, and semi-finalist for the SPACE on Ryder Farm Residency.
Her play delicacy of a puffin heart was recently produced as part of the 2018 Corkscrew Theatre Festival and The Parsnip Ship, and was a 2019 finalist for the National Playwrights Conference, semi-finalist for the NAP Series, and 2018 finalist for the Jerome Fellowship at the Playwrights Centre, the Van Lier New Voices Fellowship, and the Ground Floor at Berkeley Rep.
As a performer, she was most recently seen in the New York premiere of Yilong Liu’s new play, June Is The First Fall, directed by Michael Leibenluft, produced by Yangtze Repertory Theatre.
She is currently working on two new plays, one on the protests in Hong Kong, and the other on the story of a Chinese physicist’s life and work in America in the 1930’s.

She fluent in English, French, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Her work in translation and non-fiction involve all four languages, and have appeared in China Hands, and the New York Times.
